Ready to go beyond the basics? Upper Beginner 1 is the perfect follow-up to our Beginners 3 course and takes you into the first chapters of Genki II (chapters 13–16). In this course, we’ll help you confidently transition into upper-beginner grammar and vocabulary, while also sharpening your speaking, reading, and listening skills.
You’ll learn how to express intentions, give and receive advice, use more advanced verb forms like potential and volitional, and start having more natural, flexible conversations. We also help you expand your vocabulary and kanji knowledge to match your growing grammar foundation.
This is the course where your beginner knowledge becomes something truly usable in real conversations, both casual and polite.
